FRIDAY DROP-IN - 10:00AM TO NOON FRIDAYS AT CHURCH
We continue to be open EVERY FRIDAY.
During the school holidays remember we would you to bring children along. We have toys and tables for colouring, drawing and craft activities. Hot drinks, squash and homemade bakes are on offer.
We have some different events coming up to our normal weekly events
FRIDAY 31st JULY – the Tantony Ringers will be demonstrating how to ring hand bells and afterwards you are most welcome to have a go.
FRIDAY 14th AUGUST – members of the Walk Wheel Cycle Trust will be visiting to offer a free pebble painting session. They will be chatting about active travel and the recent improvements to National Cycle Network Route72. Part of this route runs through Parton and Lowca where it has been recently upgraded. You can take your pebble home or leave it on your favourite stretch of Route 72, also known as Hadrian’s Cycleway. This is an all age activity.We are open every Friday to share time together or have some quiet time further inside church. Hot drinks and homemade bakes are on offer plus great fellowship. Come along and meet with others; you will be warmly welcomed.
WILLIAM PIT ANNIVERSARY 15th August 1947
We will be remembering the tragedy that saw 104 lives lost 79 years ago.
Floral tributes and artefacts will be displayed in church and this year we will have a new item. We have been loaned a large framed photograph of William Pit. The Wagon Road is in the foreground where you can see a lady pushing a pram and miners with bait bags on their backs heading to work. This was brought into the Friday Drop-In and is well worth a look.
