FRIDAY DROP-IN

10:00AM TO NOON FRIDAYS AT CHURCH

We are open EVERY FRIDAY to meet in a warm space and share time together.

Hot drinks and homemade bakes are on offer.

Games, knitting, reading, sharing memories and much more.  Lots of laughs and chatter!

And if it’s a quiet space that you are looking for, to have time to reflect, pray and light a candle, we have that too. If you can think of someone who might like to come to our Drop-In, why not invite them!

  • Friday 16th May - Join us for a special Coffee Morning at Drop-In in support of DEMENTIA UK. This is a specialist dementia charity that is there for the whole family. Their nurses are known as Admiral Nurses and they provide free, life-changing support and advice to anyone affected by dementia. Come along and find out more about the work that they do. As well as serving tea, coffee and home bakes we will have a cake stall.

VE DAY 80 COMMEMORATIONS

This month sees the nation coming together to remember Victory in Europe Day 1945.  We have members of our congregation who have fond memories of that day – “dancing in my clogs outside of the Co-Op in Parton” was one memory!

We have plans to remember it with displays in church using the 80 knitted servicemen that have been lovingly knitted as a centre piece.  Many of these have been dedicated to family members who have served in the forces. Local school children have been involved in the making of displays and writing poetry and prayers. Also our own bell ringers will be joining in with the nationwide “Ring out for Peace” initiative on Thursday 8th May at 6pm.

There are plenty of opportunities for you to get involved and if you are not able to join in then please pray for the events that we have coming up.

  • THURSDAY 1ST MAY 9am – we meet to prepare the church.  As per usual we need people to help with displays, hoover up, make drinks and join in with the chat.

  • WEDNESDAY 7TH & THURSDAY 8TH local school children will be visiting and having a go at ringing for peace too.

  • THURSDAY 8TH MAY 5.30pm onwards – come along to hear the bells at 6pm and later at 8.15pm when local ringers will come together to RING OUT FOR PEACE. In between times we are encouraging you to come along with friends and family to hear the bells and have a go at pulling a bell yourself for. Prayer cards will be available and of course refreshments too.

  • FRIDAY DROP-IN 9TH MAY 10am – 12pm – come along and see the displays and enjoy some more home baking with a cuppa.

DATES FOR YOUR DIARY

SUNDAY 18TH MAY 1:00PM - CHURCH HALL - ANNUAL CHURCH MEETING BRING AND SHARE LUNCH

This will be held on Sunday May 18th at 1pm where we will give thanks for the past year.

Please do come along, have lunch and over a cuppa we will hear about all the positive things that have been happening and plans for the future.

We are looking for new members of the PCC and Sidesmen/Greeters for Sunday services.
