OTHER EVENTS AND INFORMATION

FAITH LUNCH - SUNDAY 7TH DECEMBER

Paul will return from his sabbatical and will be leading and preaching at the Family service on Sunday 7th. To celebrate the “Return of the Rector” we would love you to join us at the church hall after that service.  If you can bring along something to share for lunch, hot drinks and juice will be provided.

There will be no refreshments served in church after the service that day.

WEST CUMBERLAND CHORAL SOCIETY CHRISTMAS CONCERT - FRIDAY 12TH DECEMBER 7:00PM

This will be held in church and should be a great celebration with the Lowca Community school choir and The Hand Bell Ringers from St Bees also performing. There will be an opportunity to join in with some familiar carols. Refreshments will be served.

CAROLS AROUND THE PIANO - MONDAY 15TH DECEMBER 6:30PM

Our informal gathering with refreshments.  Tom will be at the piano again and requests as always are much appreciated.  Please bring something to share for the refreshment table afterwards. This is not a carol service but a relaxed opportunity to join in fellowship and sing; perfect for inviting friends and neighbours to.

FRIDAY DROP-IN - 10:00AM TO NOON FRIDAYS AT CHURCH

We will continue to try to be open most EVERY Friday during this festive time.

Friday 5th we have St Bridget’s school choir from Parton visiting.  They will be singing some Christmas songs and they will be doing the switch on of the lights.

*Friday 26th December, BOXING DAY there will be no Drop-In

Friday 2nd January we’d love to see you to wish you a Happy New Year and share your news over a coffee with seasonal treats.

MARY’S TREE

We will be having “Mary’s Tree” again this year for people to write messages on labels to attach as an alternative option to sending individual cards. Any money donated will go towards the restoration of our leaded windows.

ADVENT DAILY READINGS

To prepare for Christmas we have a book “Hallelujah, journeying through Advent with Handel’s Messiah” – daily readings for Advent. These are available from church for £1.50 a copy.

CAP – CHRISTIANS AGAINST POVERTY

We will be filling a hamper for a CAP client this year. The details have not yet been confirmed but when we have them we will let you know. Please continue to pray for all CAP clients at this time of year who may be feeling the pressure that the commercial build up to Christmas can bring.
